Lime's Photograph
Translated from the Danish, Leif Davidsen's fast-paced thriller is set in Spain with short trips to Russia, Denmark, and the Frankfurt airport. Originally from Denmark, Peter Lime is a paparazzo who lives a comfortable life in Madrid, spending quality time at tapas bars and the local martial arts studio. But he gets caught up in a web of intrique when he takes a photograph of the wrong couple on a secluded beach. Disentangling himself requires dealing with serious thugs from several countries. Lime is a loveable hero and really doesn't deserve all the lousy things that keep happening to him. I enjoyed the sociological insights on life in Spain and the descriptions of the Spanish countryside. --Barb P.
