This 2010 Edgar-award-winning mystery by John Hart is set in Raven County, North Carolina. Young Johnny Merrimon is looking for his twin sister, Alyssa, who disappeared without a trace about a year earlier. Other characters include Johnny's friend Jack Cross; Detective Clyde Hunt, who is also trying to figure out what happened to Alyssa; and Johnny's enemy and his mother's landlord and sometime boyfriend, Ken Holloway. There are many other characters in the novel as well. The book moves quickly, with 62 short chapters and a cliff-hanger at the end of each. There were several plot twists and unexpected developments that pop up at the end of the story.--Barb P.
