This account by Mark Levine of the April 1974 super outbreak of 148 tornadoes in the southeastern quadrant of the U.S. includes scientific information of the meteorological variety interspersed with tornado victims' human interest stories. The life and career of Tetsuya Fujita (the “f” in F5 is named for him) is described at length. Frightening accounts of the survivors of the tornado outbreak will give you pause. I read this book based on the review I read here: http://ornerylibrarian.blogspot.com/.--Barb P.
