A Rule Against Murder

This fourth mystery by Louise Penny featuring Chief Inspector Armand Gamache is her best to date. Set at the prestigious Manoir Bellechasse on an idyllic lake in Quebec, Gamache is trying to celebrate his wedding anniversary when another guest dies in a most unusual way. Lest this sound like the set up for a good cozy, think more along the lines of P.D. James...an eerie, isolated setting filled with a feuding family and suspicious staff. And at the center of it all, witty genteel Inspector Gamache knows he must delve into his own dark side to solve the murder. A former journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Penny has received awards for the Gamache mysteries from Britain, Canada and the United States. --Jenny H.
