Nemesis

This book by Jo Nesbø has been translated from the Norwegian by Don Bartlett. Attractive blond bad boy policeman Harry Hole is back on duty. He’s on the wagon and in a committed relationship but still tempted by both women and booze. Set in Oslo and in Brazil, this is another thick, 474-page treat for Nordic mystery fans. Harry is working with a new partner, Beate Nolle, who is a second generation policeperson, with a photographic memory for faces. She spends her time in the house of pain, which is the room at the Oslo police station where CCTV films are reviewed. The next title in the series, Redeemer, will be published in English this year.--Barb P.
